Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE Compact Analogue Amp Recreation Guitar Effect Pedal
Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE Compact | Analogue Amp Recreation
Compact Pedal, Big Amp Tone!
The RevivalDRIVE Compact uses the same ground-breaking Analogue Amp Recreation circuitry found in the “big box” RevivalDRIVE, condensed into a smaller, more intuitive, pedalboard-friendly package. A streamlined set of controls make it easy to dial in a variety of stunningly realistic vintage valve amp tones, while the powerful Post-Drive EQ lets you adjust your overdrive tone to suit your preferred amp and settings, not the other way around.
The RevivalDRIVE Compact is all about real amp overdrive. By replicating every stage of a valve amp’s signal path using all-analogue components, with specially designed transistor-based circuitry in place of valves, it delivers stunningly realistic tone, feel and dynamic response, ranging from clean to fully cranked. Like all Origin Effects amp recreation pedals, the RevivalDRIVE Compact contains an entire valve amp-style signal path recreated in miniature—including a preamp stage, phase inverter, push-pull output stage, and even a simulated reactive load that recreates the all-important interaction between amp and speaker.
Its main focus is on the sounds of high-powered vintage amps like the Marshall Plexi and Fender Twin Reverb, while also delivering convincing Vox and Tweed Bassman-style tones.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Complete Valve Amp-Style Signal Path: Dedicated class-A preamp, phase inverter, and push-pull output stage recreate the full amplifier experience in a compact pedal.
-
Reactive Design: Simulates the interaction between amp and speaker for realistic feel and authentic sound—the thing that gives valve amps the playing feel that players love.
-
Variable Negative Feedback: The MORE PRES control lets you fine-tune breakup characteristics, adjust dynamic response, and function as a classic presence knob—where the real character of an amp’s tone is created.
-
Ingenious Tone Controls: The HIGHS control goes beyond a simple treble knob, allowing you to move through the go-to settings of iconic non-master volume amps and shape the overall character of your sound. The LOWS control dictates how much low end hits the recreated push-pull output stage, sweeping between fatter or tighter vintage tones.
-
Interactive Blend Control: Backs off the gain as you add dry signal for the most natural sound, helping the pedal meld with amps on the edge of breakup.
-
Powerful Post-Drive EQ: This proprietary filter lets you tailor the output of the pedal to work with just about any amp, as well as flat-response power amps, cabinet simulators, and recording interfaces—so you don’t have to compromise your favourite amp settings to get the perfect drive sound.
-
Power Supply Sag Recreation: Accurately recreates power supply sag for subtle, natural compression.
-
Tour-Grade Construction: Housed in a hand-polished, brushed stainless steel enclosure with aluminium controls, Neutrik® jack sockets, and a heavy-duty footswitch—equally at home on the road and in the studio.
-
High-Impedance Buffered Bypass: Silent switching with signal integrity maintained.
-
Hand-Built in England: Designed, assembled, and built by hand in England.

The RevivalDRIVE Compact is a powerful tool for designing the perfect vintage amp tone. Whether you're chasing gradual touch-sensitive breakup, rough and raucous overdrive, percussive hard-edged distortion, or bright searing leads, it's all down to how you set the controls. With the ability to change how the pedal starts to break up and tune your tone, it's a perfect pedal for recording directly into a DAW with cab simulation.
The owners manual comes with suggested settings for Plexi, Blackface Twin, and Vox amp-like tones. Reviewers praise it as "a great sounding pedal" and an "amazing solution for 'Amp-less' rigs." One player noted it "exceeded my expectations—especially as a 'tube purist' who usually isn't impressed by digital gear. It is very responsive to articulation and dynamics."
