Origin Effects Bassrig '64 Black Panel Bass Preamp DI Cab Sim Guitar Effect Pedal
Origin Effects Bassrig '64 Black Panel | The Sound of Blues, Soul & Rock 'n' Roll
Complete Vintage Bass Amp in a Pedal – All-Analogue Fender®-Style Preamp with DI & Cab Sim
The BASSRIG '64 Black Panel is, quite simply, a complete vintage bass amp in a pedal. Based on Fender®'s Showman® and Bassman® amplifiers, Origin Effects has used all-analogue circuitry to recreate a complete valve amp-style signal path, along with an all-analogue cabinet simulator, giving you the drive, grit and articulation of these classic amps in one small box.
Back in the days before modern bass amps, achieving high stage volumes with bass guitar was a challenge that required powerful, clean amps. Nobody fills this niche quite like Fender®. Their high-powered amps—designed with guitar and bass in mind—graced countless stages and studios throughout the 1960s. The Showman®, with its 2×15 cabinets, and the later Bassman® models boast an illustrious list of users between them, including Sir Paul McCartney, Crazy Horse's Billy Talbot, and Berry Oakley of The Allman Brothers.
In fact, a whole host of Fenders can be heard amplifying the bass on some of the greatest Soul and Rock 'n' Roll records of the '60s. At Origin Effects, we believe that this boundary-pushing era has given us some of history's best bass tones.
With XLR and ¼" outputs, the BASSRIG '64 Black Panel will fit seamlessly into any signal chain, no matter how simple or complex, and our powerful Amp Out EQ tailors your sound to work with any amp, meaning you never have to compromise your clean tone.
-
Complete Valve Amp-Style Signal Path: All-analogue circuitry recreates the entire Fender Showman/Bassman signal path—delivering stunningly realistic tone, feel and dynamic response with the signature clean headroom and articulate grit of these classic amps.
-
All-Analogue Cabinet Simulator & DI Output: XLR output features an all-analogue cabinet simulation, essential for capturing the authentic Fender bass tone. A three-position switch lets you select whether the cab sim is always active, only on when engaged, or off for use with external IR loaders.
-
Powerful Amp Out EQ: Proprietary filter with LF and HF trimmers and a HORN CUT switch lets you tailor the BASSRIG's ¼" Amp Out to work with any amp and cab. Tame boominess, prevent harshness, or fatten up small combos—so you never have to compromise your amp settings.
-
BLEND Control for Parallel Compression: Mixes your drive sound in parallel with your clean signal for subtle low-end clarity, or create massive bi-amp-style overdrive tones.
-
Full Range of Classic Fender Tones: From sparkling cleans to warm, articulate grit—captures the signature sound that defined a generation of Soul and Rock 'n' Roll records.
-
Familiar, Responsive Controls: DRIVE, BASS, MIDRANGE, and TREBLE controls let you dial in instantly recognisable vintage Fender tones. The gain control functions exactly like the volume knob on a non-master-volume valve amp.
-
Tour-Grade Construction: Hand-polished, brushed stainless steel enclosure with aluminium controls, Neutrik® jack sockets, and heavy-duty footswitch.
-
High-Impedance Buffered Bypass: Silent switching with signal integrity maintained.
-
Designed and Built in England: Hand-assembled with meticulous attention to detail.
