Dual Inputs & Dual Outputs – "I've Waited 40 Years for This!"

The DB-EAST offers unprecedented flexibility with two separate instrument inputs and two dedicated DI outputs. As Nathan East explains: "Every amp only has one input—why? I'll never know. But this has two and two separate outputs so that the front-of-house engineer or anyone mixing the room can have each instrument separately". Each input is routed through the preamp to its own dedicated DI out, which switches automatically when you change inputs. This gives you complete flexibility when using multiple basses—whether switching between electric and acoustic, or active and passive instruments.

Switchable & Blendable FET and Tube Preamp Stages

Building on Laney's DIGBETH legacy, the DB-EAST features a unique preamp section that allows players to mix tube warmth with FET clarity. "This thing is so musical. When I'm on stage playing, it doesn't feel like an electronic piece of gear or a set of tubes," says East. The blendable preamp design gives you the best of both worlds—the tight, articulate response of FET and the rich, harmonically complex warmth of tube overdrive.

Precision Tone Control

The amp boasts a powerful 3-band EQ with a parametric mid-section and Laney's innovative Tilt function. East explains: "Let's start with the funk setting—where I like to scoop the mids. This is sort of the setting I use when it comes to a little bit of funk". The Tilt control acts as a dynamic see-saw EQ, allowing you to sweep from a scooped, aggressive tone to a warm, rounded sound with a single control.

LA·IR Technology – Studio-Quality DI Tone

Equipped with Laney's advanced LA·IR (Laney Advanced Impulse Response) technology, the DB-EAST comes pre-loaded with Nathan's favourite cabinet impulse responses—his go-to 2x12 and 4x10 IRs. Each of the two DI outputs has its own independent LA·IR, allowing you to store two IRs on the device—one for each DI out. The free LA·IR App gives you access to even more IRs, and each IR can have its own independent parametric EQ for fine-tuning to any venue or recording scenario. The USB-C socket supports both LA·IR App connection and audio in/out, making it super convenient for recording directly into your favourite DAW.
