Jim Dunlop Guitar Pick Tortex Flow Pick 0.88mm Made In USA

Jim Dunlop Tortex Flow Pick 0.88mm – The Iconic Green Standard with Precision Flow Geometry

The Pick That Revolutionized the Industry. Now with Flow Pick Geometry. Still Made in the USA.

Tortex Flow Picks combine the bright snap of Tortex Picks with Flow Pick geometry, featuring a wide angle to focus your attack and a sharp tip for superior precision and articulation. First released in 1981, Tortex Picks were originally intended to be a high-quality replacement for tortoiseshell. Jim Dunlop's trail-blazing creation became so much more than that, however, establishing its own identity and becoming the new standard by which all other picks are judged.

The Story Behind the Legend

Building on the precision, consistency, and color-coded gauge system he introduced with Nylon Picks, Jim resolved to create a pick with a bright and snappy attack, superior memory and durability, and an improved grip. He chose Delrin as his base material and then spent more than a year developing a special treatment process to draw out its full potential. This treatment process is what sets Tortex Picks apart from all others, providing their unique grip-enhancing matte surface and aggressive attack. Finally, Jim expanded on his previous picks' color-coded gauge system to create the bright and timeless palette that has become an industry standard. Because we stick to Jim's original formula, Tortex Picks remain our bestselling pick line. And we still make them at the Dunlop HQ in Benicia, California.

Flow Pick Geometry – Focused Attack, Superior Precision

The Tortex Flow Pick features a unique geometry designed for players who demand precision and articulation. The wide angle focuses your attack for a more controlled, directed sound, while the sharp tip delivers superior precision for fast, articulate single-note lines and complex lead work. This combination makes the Flow Pick ideal for:

• Lead Playing: The sharp tip provides exceptional articulation for fast runs and melodic solos.

• Precision Picking: The wide angle focuses your attack for controlled, accurate playing.

• Technical Styles: Perfect for progressive rock, metal, fusion, and any genre that demands precision.

• Versatile Playing: Works equally well for rhythm and lead, electric and acoustic.

The .88mm Gauge – The Iconic Green Pick for Power and Precision

The .88mm Tortex Flow Pick is identified by its legendary green color and is widely regarded as the go-to gauge for rock, punk, and metal players who demand power, precision, and durability. It offers a stiffer feel than lighter gauges, making it ideal for aggressive rhythm playing, fast alternate picking, and articulate lead work. When combined with Flow Pick geometry, this gauge becomes an even more precise tool for powerful playing. The .88mm gauge is perfect for:

• Heavy Rhythm: The stiffness provides solid attack and chunky chord definition.

• Lead Playing: Enough rigidity for fast, precise single-note lines and solos, with the sharp tip adding extra articulation.

• Aggressive Styles: Rock, punk, and metal players favor this gauge for its power and control.

• Versatile Playing: Works equally well for electric and acoustic, strumming and picking.
