Tonal Philosophy – Edgy, Traditional British Rock

In the quest for ideal overdrive sounds, Free The Tone recalls two archetypes: the American Blues sound of the classic Black Face period and the British Rock sound represented by the golden "Plexi" panel. The Fire Mist renders that ideal British Rock sound with outstanding response. Its viscous, clean-to-crunch tone with moderate compression feel can generate the best British Rock sound.

The Fire Mist has a LOT of headroom and volume available. With the Drive at zero, it provides a cleanish boost that tightens the low end and brings mids forward—ideal for pushing your amp into natural overdrive. Turn up the Drive and you get thick, harmonically rich overdrive with long sustain and brilliant overtones, yet note definition remains excellent even at maximum settings. It cleans up beautifully with your guitar's volume and responds to every nuance of your playing, making it perfect for players who rely on volume control for tonal variations. Tonally, the overdrive is thick-sounding, very harmonic, and touch-sensitive.
