One thing that has remained consistent throughout his legendary career is the powerful tone he gets from the original EMG PJ Sets in his Spector basses. With this legacy in mind, EMG set out to recreate and recapture the magic of that original set from the 80s with his new signature set.

Previously only available in his Signature Spector Bass, the Doug Wimbish signature PJ Set was created using Doug's exact EMG PJ Set that he has been using since the early 80s. By listening to the PJ Set in his 80s Spector bass, EMG was able to recreate the nostalgic tone bass players originally fell in love with.

The DW PJ Set follows a classic P/J architecture: a split-coil P-style pickup in the middle position paired with a J-style bridge pickup. The result is a set that captures the punch, clarity, and authority that have made Doug's sound a go-to for rock, soul, R&B, and beyond.
