The Pick That Started It All. Trusted by Legends. The Go-To Gauge for Countless Guitarists Across Every Genre.
Dunlop Nylon Standard Picks provide the warmth, flexibility, and resilience harnessed by numerous guitar legends to record some of rock 'n' roll's most iconic hits. Our first ever pick offering, Nylon Standard Picks provide warmth, flexibility, and durability. We start with high-quality Nylon for its timeless sonic character and the perfect amount of give. Then, we use precision-molding to impart a rounded edge for a release that's nice and smooth. The standard pick shape offers a familiar feel in the hand, while a raised logo gripping surface makes the Nylon Standard Pick a cinch to control when digging in.
The 0.73mm Gauge – The World's Most Popular Gauge, Perfect Balance of Flex and Stiffness
The 0.73mm Nylon Standard Pick is identified by its iconic yellow color and is widely regarded as the most popular pick gauge in the world. It offers the perfect balance of flexibility and stiffness, making it the go-to choice for countless guitarists across every genre. The 0.73mm gauge is ideal for:
-
Rhythm Guitar: The ideal amount of snap and control for chord work and strumming.
-
Lead Playing: Enough stiffness for articulate single-note lines and solos.
-
Versatile Playing: Works equally well for acoustic and electric, strumming and picking.
-
The Golden Mean: Not too thin, not too thick—just right for almost any style.
The Original Nylon Pick – A Revolution in Pick-Making
With our Nylon Pick line, we rewrote the book on pick-making and gave players more options and more confidence when choosing their picks. We created seven gauges instead of the limited and vaguely defined Light, Medium, and Heavy popular at the time. Labeled by thickness from .38mm to 1.25mm, this gave players twice as many gauges and the confidence that they knew what they were getting. Today, Dunlop Nylon Picks come in a variety of forms to accommodate every style and skill level.
Raised Logo Gripping Surface – Secure Control
The raised logo gripping surface makes the Nylon Standard Pick a cinch to control when digging in. Even during aggressive playing, the textured surface provides enough grip to keep you in command of your pick.
