Jim Dunlop Nylon Standard Pick 0.46mm – The Original Nylon Pick, Light Gauge, Warm Tone, Made in the USA
The Pick That Started It All. Trusted by Legends. The Second Thinnest Gauge in the Legendary Nylon Standard Line.
Dunlop Nylon Standard Picks provide the warmth, flexibility, and resilience harnessed by numerous guitar legends to record some of rock 'n' roll's most iconic hits. Our first ever pick offering, Nylon Standard Picks provide warmth, flexibility, and durability. We start with high-quality Nylon for its timeless sonic character and the perfect amount of give. Then, we use precision-molding to impart a rounded edge for a release that's nice and smooth. The standard pick shape offers a familiar feel in the hand, while a raised logo gripping surface makes the Nylon Standard Pick a cinch to control when digging in.
The 0.46mm Gauge – Light, Flexible, and Expressive
The 0.46mm Nylon Standard Pick is identified by its iconic yellow color and is the second thinnest gauge in the Nylon Standard lineup. This light, flexible pick is perfect for players who want a snappy, fluid attack with plenty of give. The 0.46mm gauge is ideal for:
-
Acoustic Strumming: The light flex allows for smooth, effortless strumming with a bright, crisp tone.
-
Rhythm Playing: The snap and responsiveness make it perfect for chord work and rhythmic grooves.
-
Expressive Techniques: The flexibility enables dynamic control and expressive playing styles.
-
Vintage Tone: The warm, round tone of nylon tames harsh highs and delivers a smooth, quiet attack.
The Original Nylon Pick – A Revolution in Pick-Making
With our Nylon Pick line, we rewrote the book on pick-making and gave players more options and more confidence when choosing their picks. We created seven gauges instead of the limited and vaguely defined Light, Medium, and Heavy popular at the time. Labeled by thickness from .38mm to 1.25mm, this gave players twice as many gauges and the confidence that they knew what they were getting. Today, Dunlop Nylon Picks come in a variety of forms to accommodate every style and skill level.
Raised Logo Gripping Surface – Secure Control
The raised logo gripping surface makes the Nylon Standard Pick a cinch to control when digging in. Even with its light, flexible 0.46mm gauge, the textured surface provides enough grip to keep you in command of your pick.
