Bacchus WJB5-1MS-DX-AC RSM/M Electric Bass 5 String Roasted Maple Fanned Frets Active Black
The Bacchus WJB5-1MS-DX-AC RSM/M takes the acclaimed multi‑scale design and expands it to five strings. Built for bassists who demand a tight, articulate low B without floppiness, this instrument combines a lightweight Poplar body with an all‑roasted Maple neck and fingerboard, stainless steel frets, and a powerful active preamp. Finished in sleek Black, the WJB5‑DX delivers professional studio and stage performance at an exceptional value.
Why Fanned Frets on a 5‑String?
The multi‑scale (fanned fret) system solves the classic 5‑string compromise:
-
Low B (5th string) – 35” scale (889mm) : Maximum tension and definition – no mud, no wobble. Drop tunings stay punchy.
-
High G (1st string) – 34” scale (864mm) : Comfortable, familiar feel for fast fills, chords, and bends.
-
Graduated frets : Naturally align with your hand’s ergonomics, reducing wrist strain during long sets.
Fully Roasted Maple Neck & Fingerboard
Every piece of Maple in the neck and fingerboard has been heat‑treated (roasted). Advantages include:
-
Ultimate stability – Resists warping from humidity and temperature changes.
-
Rich, dry resonance – Enhanced midrange snap and sustain, without excessive overtones.
-
Smooth playing feel – No sticky gloss; a fast, satin‑like surface.
-
Beautiful dark caramel hue – Complements the Black body for a stealthy, high‑contrast look.
Stainless Steel Frets & Bone Nut
-
Stainless Steel frets : Indestructible under roundwound strings; polished, glassy bends; no fret wear worries.
-
Bone nut (46.0mm width): Superior energy transfer and open string clarity, perfectly spaced for 5‑string feel.
Active Electronics – Complete Tonal Control
The Original JB‑Type pickup provides that classic jazz bass growl and punch. Combined with the Original Active Preamp (Treble/Bass), you get active power with intuitive control:
Control Function
Volume Master level
Balancer Blend neck & bridge pickups
Treble (active)±Boost/Cut – add sparkle or tame harshness
Bass (active)±Boost/Cut – from tight thump to deep subwoofer rumble
Tip : The passive tone of the JB pickup is always available when the preamp is set flat – best of both worlds.
