The Jan Ray was created to replicate the crisp, punchy tone of the Blackface Fender amps from the 1960s, often referred to as the “Fender Magic 6” sound. This overdrive is user-friendly, maintaining the guitar’s unique qualities while providing excellent sustain without any artificial compression.
