In the past, to access humbucker tone, P90 tone, and Strat tone, three separate guitars were necessary. Now, the P-Rails humbucker offers all three tones in one pickup that easily fits into any standard humbucker slot. By using a 3-way mini-switch (on-off-on), this unique hybrid humbucker can be split to produce a vintage P90 sound or a classic Strat-like tone with the Rail coil. When both coils are active, a powerful humbucker sound is achieved. The neck version is reverse-wound for hum-canceling operation when both P90s or both Rails are used together.
Handcrafted in Santa Barbara, CA, each P-Rails humbucker pickup features alnico 5 bar magnets, a 4-conductor lead wire for versatile wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted to operate without squealing.
