The Aska Team Build series has produced a limited edition cherry blossom guitar for the spring of 2025. This exquisite instrument showcases the meticulous craftsmanship that only Headway can deliver, honed over a decade of working with Sakura (Japanese cherry) wood to enhance its beauty and sound. The design features soft cherry blossom hues, inspired by “hatsuzakura,” and pink turquoise purfling, creating a finish that captures the essence of spring.
The swallow, a migratory bird symbolizing spring in Japan, is the chosen design motif for Headway. It holds special significance for master builder Yasuo Momose, who eagerly awaited their return each year. The design honors his mentor and reflects the rich Japanese landscape, creating a narrative throughout the guitar.
The sound hole cover features two swallows perched on a cherry tree bursting with blossoms, marking the start of the story. The soft petals of the cherry blossoms beautifully capture the essence of spring’s arrival.
The ebony fingerboard showcases vibrant inlays shaped like cherry blossoms. The graceful flight paths of the swallows artistically intertwine with the petals, creating a breathtaking visual.
The inlay depicts a swallow taking flight from a cherry blossom branch and soaring into the sky.
The sides and back feature yamazakura wood, known for its sweet tone and flame grain, while Indian rosewood enhances the centerpiece’s beauty. An inlay on the top depicts a family of swallows and a woman with a Japanese umbrella, capturing a beautiful spring scene.

The Mi-Si Acoustic Trio System features an innovative, battery-free active preamp that is specifically tailored to enhance the L.R. Baggs under-saddle Element acoustic guitar pickups. While we previously incorporated this dependable pickup system in some of our Headway models, we have now transitioned to the improved -Air Trio- system. This upgraded version includes an active, battery-free MEMS microphone in conjunction with the L.R. Baggs Element under-saddle pickup, providing an enriched output by leveraging both the MEMS microphone and the Piezo pickup.
