Description

The story of our Sakura (Japanese Cherry Tree) wood guitars traces back to 2014 when we crafted our first ukulele. Headway has honed its expertise over the years to work with this unique wood, known for its distinct sound and quality compared to imported varieties. This year marks Headway’s 10th anniversary, commemorated by a special model designed to propel us to new heights and reach a global audience.

  • Introducing the “Sakura-Slant Gradation”, a novel diagonal color gradient in the Standard Series, making its debut in this model.
  • The body features a gentle transition of cherry blossom hues, cascading from the lower right to the upper left, reminiscent of falling cherry blossoms.
  • As a token of gratitude for the ongoing support of our Sakura guitars over the past decade, a “crane” inlay symbolizing good fortune adorns the headstock. The crane, a migratory bird, embodies our wish for this guitar to be cherished worldwide, transcending borders.
  • The cherry blossom model showcases intricate cherry blossom inlays on the fingerboard, expertly crafted from acrylic and wood. Additionally, the pickguard is fashioned from purple heart wood, known for its distinctive purple hue.
  • Japanese Yamazakura cherry wood, renowned for its hardness and rich low midrange tones, is utilized for the back and sides of the guitar. The body’s centerpiece features a purple heart wood centerline, mirroring the material used for the pickguard.
  • The Mi-Si Acoustic Trio System boasts an active, battery-free preamp crafted to complement the L.R. Baggs under saddle Element acoustic guitar pickups. While we previously utilized them in some of our Headway models, we later upgraded to the advanced -Air Trio-. This new system combines an active, battery-free MEMS microphone with the L.R. Baggs Element under-saddle pickup, resulting in an improved output by incorporating a MEMS microphone alongside the Piezo pickup.
