Description
Headway, known for its Sakura wood guitars, started with a ukulele in 2014. The unique sound and quality of Sakura wood distinguish these guitars. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Headway aims to expand globally with a special model.
Amber, with its golden hue, is linked to the Arabic word “Ambar” meaning “light in the sea”. Referred to as “a drop of the sun” or “a mermaid’s tear” since ancient times, it is associated with qualities like vitality, prosperity, and longevity. Known as the “stone of happiness”, it embodies life energy.
The headstock of the Sakura Guitar will have a special design marking its 10th anniversary, featuring cranes symbolizing communication, courtship, and good luck in Japanese culture. The design expresses gratitude to Headway users for celebrating this milestone year.
The Sakura model features a cherry blossom inlay on the fingerboard and a pickguard made of purple heart wood with a unique purple grain.
Yamazakura cherry wood, also called wild sakura or mountain sakura, is hard with a sweet sound. The guitar body features a purple heart centerline matching the pickguard material.
The back of the headstock features an anniversary logo inspired by the “woman with a Japanese umbrella,” a theme unique to Headway’s 10th-anniversary models.
This model features bracing developed by Mr. Momose based on vintage 1934 guitar bracing. The X position is semi-forward shifted near the soundhole, enhancing bass response and volume. It improves top plate stability by being 5 mm closer to the bridge than a typical forward shift design.
